When opening a bottle of sparkling wine with the Le Creuset Champagne Star, always bear in mind that there is extreme pressure in the bottle and once the wire cage is removed, the cork is held in place only by friction. After the bottle has been properly chilled, remove the foil and the wire cage. Holding the neck of the bottle in your hand, tilt the bottle away from you at a 45 degree angle. With your other hand place the Star in the four notches left the cork by the wire and press firmly in place. Turn the cork slowly and the gas pressure will push it out of the bottle under your control.
